My 12 year old thoroughbred gelding does the head toss. He does it during play and will approach at top speed doing the head toss for fun, he knows some people are intimidated by it and will leave the paddock promptly. We are used to it and ignore him. He also does it to show he is pleased to see you as it goes with deep throated neighing sometimes.

my girl who I have had since she popped out of her mum' always head tosses when she is playing' her mum doesn't do it' my big Dales cross does it when he is pleased to see me' think it is a pleasure thing with mine'

Hi Domane,
My little welshie head tosses all the time too, happy, excited, food on the way, running about in the field so was good to read from outoftheblue about the welshies doing it a lot lol
