Well i did manage to lunge him even though he laid down as soon as we got in the field. He was pooing as well so it all should have helped but it didin't, vet came out again and said his whole pelvis was full of bloated gassy intestine so he's now at Rossdales. After a rectal, ultrasound and quite a few other tests, (hes been totally clipped on one side ) He has stayed there. They were taking him for another lunging session as i left. Won't hear now until the morning unless he gets worse. I had to kiss my baby goodbye through bars of his stable door So please keep your fingers and toes crossed as i have a horrible feeling i'm never going to see him again

Everything crossed for you both.
Jim had surgery for exactly this type of colic last year & he's still with me. If it's any comfort the surgeon told me it's generally one of the most straightforward colic surgeries (didn't really reassure me much at the time if I'm honest) so if it does come to surgery then don't despair.
(((Hugs))), it's horrible to have to leave them. I remember bawling my eyes out on my OH as they took Jim into surgery, convinced I'd never see him again.

No news yet, I'll ring them at 10.30 if i haven't heard from them. I haven't been offered surgery although i don't want to go down that route anyway.

i am so hacked off i am hoping to get Elvis back tomorrow but i don't think he will be any better than when he went in and they have really milked me by doing every test imaginable Tomorrow someone there is going to have to sit down with me and justify every test and bit of medication they have given him because other than the rectal and ultrasound on arrival, they seem to have spent £800 treating him for diarreah which they feel is due to an infection in his intestine although no tests show that. They dont think his upset stomach could be caused by being taken him away from his field mates, travelling him for 2 hours, clipping him, rectals, ultrsounds, tubes down his throat, stabling him (hes only been stabled a few times in his life) blood tests, giving him electrilytes via a tube down his nose, giving him nosebleeds. i phoned at lunchtime and i'm told hes much better and his intestine problem managed to cure itself and i should be able to take him tonight, to be told 30 minutes later, that he is poorly, still lying down in pain with terrible squirts and will have to stay the night but can be picked up tomorrow at 10am, how do they know that if he's so poorly If i didn't live 50 miles away i would have gone there tonight to see him. i just want to get my horse out of there and home
