Sky is drinking about 2 bucket fulls in her stable a day and she's in 24/7 due to the ice - you can get flavoring to add - my trimmer sells it but sky just knocks the water over and eats the mix lol

I suspect they can't be bothered to pick their way across the frozen mud to the trough, so I have left them 4 tubs full of water in the barn (equivalent to 11 buckets between 4 horses and a pony), I'll see how much is left in the morning. Three come in to have feeds, but neither Caspar nor Daisy were interested when I offered them a bucket of fresh tap water. You'd think they would bust a gut to get it wouldn't you?

We are giving one 20 litre water container per horse. Put some trugs inside the stable thinking that would reduce the freezing, instead we got frozen poo! The trugs are outside now, so they don't poo in them but they do have ice in the morning. The trugs in the barn are poo and (almost) ice free, but why do one daddy, two mares and three fillies stand in the field all night in the cold, instead of in the barn where it's warmer! Is this a common trait of Lusitanos?

My Lady Luso is a bit of a wimp. She loves her comfort I'm afraid. Unlike her baby who is enjoying the snow with his mates. They are all drinking an unbelievable amount of water.
