without wishing to go into the politics of it, does anyone know what is going to happen to the horses?

up for this, It is a matter of fact that this Sanctuary have lost their charitable status. It is a matter of fact that they built without planning permission and have lost their retrospective appeal. I have heard that there have been many "issues" here, but I hope that these horses, are not going to be used as political tools. I woud like to ask some questions, but they are only questions and I understand it is a sensitive time and emotions are high for all concerned.
Most importantly, at this stage, is it true, or just a rumour that there have been arrangements made for horses to be put down, even when their old owners are desperate to recover them?
If anyone involved is reading this, I urge you to set aside your personal feelings and do what you can to make the best of a difficult situation. My prayers and good wishes are with you all.

I am not a member on face book so I can't read that, and the thing to remember is newspaper stories at this level tell it as they have been told, and are generally unbalanced reports. I do believe though that their shop is still trading, so they have access to funds and I think they also run a livery yard from the site, I wonder if they are going to move, or "dispose" of their assets some how? A charity has to be accountable Daisy, people hand over money in good faith and deserve to know how it is spent, so in this, I think the Charity Commission are quite right to insist on accountability. I am NOT suggesting that there has been any misappropriation here, initially this is a planning dispute. I am not suggesting the horses are not looked after, I have never been to the site myself. The deadline is looming, and I wonder what plans have been made for the horses?

Just because they lose their charitable status doesn't necessarily mean they can't continue, although it does become more difficult. There are lots of small charities with an income of less than £5k who are ineligible for registration. Where are they Jackie? Has anyone approached them about rehoming or loaning one of their rescues?
