Can't see the vid as work won't allow me - but to be honest not sure I want to see it!!
However, I know someone who has worked for a couple of very big name british based dressage riders. The stories I heard about the first lady were atrocious, once one of the horses she was competing didn't perform quite well enough for her liking so she took it straight back to the temporary stable with her schooling whip in hand and beat the living daylights out of it - she then got her score sheet and she had actually won the class!
THe girl then started a job with some even more famous people and when I asked her how it was she said that in comparison the previous employer had been a complete softy.
Oh and in answer to someone'sprevious question about why they have bandages when they don't care less about the tongues and necks - it's purely show. Many of them think more about having matching saddlecloths and exercise bandages than they do about their horse's well being
Fortunately there are some beautiful riders out there, many of whom are in this country.

Dreadful- why would you want to have a horse so overbent if you were doing top level dressage? It reminds me of that show jumper (can't remember his name) who boasted about bending a bit in a horses mouth- disgusting!

It has hit many other forums as well. On Natural Horse group yesterday I have never seen so many posts on the subject and many standing up and fighting against the behaviour of this rider towards this poor horse by the rider.. and worse what was seen as acceptable in that competition in the warm up.. It is such a terrible shame because as a rider he had an amazing seat and his legs didnt touch the horses sides so why oh why did he have to treat that horse is such a manner beats me.. you so wish that powerful horse had said GET OFF me huge big time but feel his whole personality had been killed dead nearly like his poor tongue. to move as he did and not complain was so sad to see...

Haven't seen video, but from stills this looks utterly appalling. I really hope you're able to get somewhere with this, heather, and am right behind you.
The quotes given a few pages ago about stewards doing nothing, and the rider's reaction to that astonish me. Everyone does it, because the stewards don't stop them : the stewards don't stop them, because everyone does it. Pure farce.

Have had a reply from BD - basically he's not British and it wasn't in UK so nothing they can do but is being looked into by FEI. Cop out really.

Thread referring to has been pulled on the BD forum, with the lame excuse that it is being investigated by the FEI, so cannot be discussed there. Just as I expected, spineless. Heather

Not quite same but similar in regards to warm up areas..and breaking rules and stewards doing nothing.. My daughter used to S/J affiliated. And at Addington (before it was done up as many know it today) we were warming up and as you know jumps are not supposed to be higher than the class on/Jump off. WE there is this well known local dealer who arrives with his two 8 horse lorries.. so lots of entry fees off him! UP go the jumps well above classes.. you complain and they say nothing they can do.. you go up and put them down and get verbal.. and on one case as I was putting a jump pole back into its cup one of his riders jumped the jump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I complained I was told nothing they could do!!!!!!!!! It is who you are
So BD cant do anything.. so lets see what FEI can do.. then.. have any other British top Dressage riders been sent this and asked their opinion like Carl Hester for instance..

On the FEI site it says: Sweden's Patrik Kittel finished third with Watermill Scandic HBC on a score of 76.250 and was very happy with the result. "My horse was calm, but I made some mistakes. He is still very young" the rider said of his 10 year old stallion. "The most important thing about any horse is its willingness to perform in the arena, and my horse wants to do just that" he added. It made me so sad to think that he thinks his young horse is willing to perform; more likely terrified not to after such brutal treatment in the warm up. You can email the FEI here: www.fei.org/Search_Centre/Pages/Contact.aspx
