No she's not too keen on reverse - she'd much prefer forward at a rate of knots, preferably with a jump in front of her!!! She doesn't seem to realise that might make her lame again though - she spends plenty of time flying round the field showing me that she can still do it! One of the people who most persuaded me that I should share the video is a Grand Prix dressage rider I work with - I respect her rights and beliefs to work her horses in the way that she does, and she respects mine - and was very complimentary. BTW - I normally sit on a memory foam saddle pad (Cavallo or Heather Moffett) to protect her back, but took it off for the video.

A beautiul bit of horsemanship Sue. Thanks for sharing - I don't know why you were so bashful about it! It's excellent and inspirational.
Do you think it is possible to start a horse "naked"? It's my major horsey ambition, so am interested in views of those who have achieved naked riding either from scratch or from with-tack riding.

What a brilliant bit of riding! I'm just about to start my horse and a friend keeps saying I should start him bareback/ with a bareback pad and I like the idea but don't think my balance is anywhere near as good as yours - think I'd have been out the side door with those bouncy transitions!! Well done you and thanks for sharing

Beautiful and inspiring Sue, I feel much happier watching that than grand prix dressage.

Also Sue it is also a really good demonstration of ridden clicker training (that is what it looked like to me, apologies if I am way off the mark). I use CT all the time both on the ground and ridden, but some people find it really hard to understand how it can be used when riding, and don't seem to believe that it can be as simple as you just showed it to be. Got any more vids you would like to share? (not that I'm being cheeky or anything!) ;D

Brilliant vid! Love it. Out of interest, what surface have you got down in your round pen?

It's a woodchip surface - not my favourite, but also not my round pen so no option - she's on livery 15 mins from where I live. One day...!
