Sure there will be some lovely horse on the market in the new year up your street. What area are you in and what are you prepared to travel. Will have a look around for you if you'd like?

If you don't like the look of a nice Clydesdale or Shire (they're not for everyone, but I wouldn't say no), then I'd say Irish Draft. I've seen some that are absolutely gorgeous - but I like my horses like I like my women - big and hairy!

Austin is IDxHanoverian, he is an old fashioned stamp of warmblood, he is up to weight but also moves beautifully, and does a nice dressage test and will jump a 5ft hedge! When I went to try him I didn't really like the look of him as he looked a bit clumsy, but when I rode him, he just was so light on his feet and really glided round the school, so we bought him!! This is him:

Thanks Diane! I just think you can get really nice BIG horses, they don't have to be plods! Austin is a big 17hh lump of horse, but he's great fun to ride, will go all day and is really fast!! He'd make a great hunter, but not my cup of tea really!

Irish Draught- great horses, athletic for their size, up to weight but not coarse. Hack, Dressage, jump, hunt, you name it, they do it.
