Charity Book Launch at the Cheltenham Racecourse We are very pleased to welcome you to a demonstration at the Cotswold RDA centre at Cheltenham race course. All proceeds to two worthy causes- helping Will Fenton walk again and the RDA. Please tell all your friends! Thurs 17 Dec at 7 pm. Tickets available from www.atkyns.co.uk/will, or on the door. There will be Christmas refreshments and hot soup available. Dress warmly, though! Further details on the poster below. Born to Whisper- COMING SOON! We are delighted to announce the imminent, worldwide publication of our new book, Born to Whisper. Following in the style of our first book, Whispering Back, it might be described as an Autobiography with Horses, Part II. The book follows our journey on many levels, mingling stories of desperate horses, both wild and domestic, with our own lives, as we moved into parenthood. As well as investigating the benefits of using more natural ways of working with horses, the book chronicles our own efforts to become closer to nature. Set against a backdrop of subjects as diverse as the Boat Race, tow-in surfing in Hawaii, dancing and rock music, it should be interesting for those non-horsey partners, too! 'Breathtakingly good writing!' Rosie Dickens, Editor, Preface Publishing 'At the heart of their journey lies a burning desire to do what's right for the horse.' Monty Roberts Copies and pre-ordering will be available from our new web site soon. We will let you know more details shortly. This is our first venture into self-publishing. Doing so means we can donate money from the sale of each book to equine charities. We really hope you, our email contacts, will help us by telling anyone you know at riding clubs, the RDA, or just your own yard about our book. The format is the same size as the hardback of Whispering Back. The paper is of a very high quality and there are over 40 colour images. Aw, thanks everyone for your lovely comments about Whispering Back! We're really excited about Born to Whisper, and hope you'll enjoy it as much if not more than the first one. It's a pity some of you can't make the demonstration, but we might do a few of these for the RDA, so if you know of a group near you please just let us know. Nicole

It was a lovely evening, and a good turnout despite the imminent threat of snow! The lovely RDA people at Cheltenham have a super indoor school and did a great job providing soup and hot drinks in aid of the RDA. Adam was flying solo as Nicole had to stay home and look after the children, who were poorly. (Get well soon Marley and Layla) He did a grand job of the demo. There was a big bay horse who was sometimes difficult to lead and didn't load well either, so Adam did some leading work and a lovely calm join-up, and then demonstrated loading him calmly into the trailer. Adam is visiting the owner and her instructor soon to do the follow-up work, as there wasn't enough time to train the owner fully. At the interval lots of people bought their copies of Born to Whisper, and Adam took his first steps as an auctioneer, managing to raise a good sum for four Perfect Confidence books which had been kindly donated by Kelly (along with the round pen and lorry). (Actually I think she is expecting the pen and lorry back, don't worry KM we didn't sell them!) Will, Adam's friend who's in a wheelchair currently also spoke about the treatments he's having to help him walk again After the interval Mo, who manages the Cotswold RDA, had a lunge lesson from Adam and learned some seat exercises. After Mo, some tall woman was drilled at high speed in seat training exercises apparently to show how it's done . . don't know who that was lol. Molly the RDA pony was very sanguine about having feet flying around in her peripheral vision, what a complete star. All the helpers were great, and the boys from Scsi (Adam's band) provided lots of much needed muscle, shifting panels and chairs around. To top it all, I think we all got home without being snowed on. So altogether, a great launch for the book and a good fundraising evening. Annabelle
