It has just occured to me that there may be some visitors to this site who don't know what an 'IHRA' is - since although this the Intelligent Horsemanship Discussion Group, it is open to all (and all are very welcome!).
So for anyone who's not sure... an IHRA is an Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Associate.
Recommended Associates are holders of the Monty Roberts Preliminary Certificate of Horsemanship, who have gone on to complete further requirements of the Intelligent Horsemanship Association to qualify as Recommended Associates. They are specialists in training and understanding horses and ponies, and of course their owners! Horses may be young, old, well-mannered, or even 'horses with problems'.
Using established principles of psychology and equine behaviour together with years of experience, this way of training has become increasingly popular. Sympathetic to both horses and people the Recommended Associates have helped horses and horse owners achieve a better understanding and achieve their full potential all around the world.
Whether you have a young foal or weanling that needs handling; a horse that needs saddling, long-reining, backing; a horse who won’t shoe, catch, load, clip, needs schooling, hacking out, or anything else you can think one of our Recommended Associates can provide you with a solution to get you heading in the right direction.
To find out who is your nearest Intelligent Horsemanship Recommended Associate (IHRA):
- Call the IH office on 01488 71300 or
- Visit www.intelligenthorsemanship.co.uk and click on ‘Specialist Horse Training’
