A few weeks ago I was called upon to visit Ember a two year old exmoor pony, who could, at that time, best be described as feral. After several visits, some of which have included some Equine Touch work, Ember was today (2nd Nov.) microchipped and behaved like a star.
He will be moving to a conservation grazing scheme before christmas.

Ember had his first visit from the farrier yesterday (5th November). I was unable to be there due to other commitments, so enlisted the help of IH student Donna (newimage from the DG) to be on hand. He took it all in his stride, apart from becoming a little fidgety when having the back feet actually worked on.
Big thanks to Donna for stepping in at short notice

For the time being Ember will be staying put. All being well he will go to the grazing scheme in the spring. His owner felt that it would be easier for him to settle in when the weather is a little better!!

After a winter of having virtualy no handling, Ember was a star when I visited him again. He stood nicely to have his headcollar put on. Enjoyed being groomed. Stood still to have feet picked out. He has also obviously been thinking about leading over the winter as he is now getting the hang of this.
