We found a small grey gelding in a field that we graze this morning. Very scared but clearly a pet at some time in it's life - understood about buckets and allowed us to get a finger on it's nose. Probably older/elderly although difficult to say with no contact. Wearing a red head collar with the remains of a green lead rope. any info please get in touch. Predictably the police, RSPCA etc are not interested. took some video, here he is - www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQIdxBoOsWc

mystery solved - we went to the local gypsy site today and found his owner - he is actually a MULE!! The family who own him have been hunting for him, as he goes walkabout........saw all of their horses who look to be in good condition and well cared for - none of whom I recognise as illegally grazed. On the otherhand there is a second family with sad trotters who are in and out of the estates fields all of which I do recognise - feeling like I have had a lesson in not presuming! The chap I saw said that they had bought him because he was being badly treated and is slowly learning to trust people - must say that was my feeling too! So not to worried about him going back.

He doesn't have huge ears like a normal mule, is he like 1/4 mule and 3/4 pony ?
