Sorry to post the sad news on here, but I know there are several people who knew Patricia ...
Sadly she died suddenly yesterday. She was looking after, and riding, Parsifal, Pastor's last son, till the end.
She was a great horsewoman, and I will miss her wisdom and insight.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this Sue. She was a hell of a character! Patricia very nearly came to work from my place, then in East Anglia, many years ago, but we couldnt work out accommodation for her in the end.
When she had that brain tumour, I wondered then how long she would last, but she was so lucky that she came through it and lived to what must have been quite a ripe old age.
Will put a post up on EE too- thanks for letting us know.

Thanks, Heather, appreciate that.
Yan, Patricia was out with Nuno Oliveira for about 8 years, and Sylvia Loch has published articles about/by her in the CRC newsletter. As Heather says, she was a hell of a character - she also trained with Lars Sederholm, jumped round Hickstead, did the English commentary at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna and had many more adventures in between.
RIP with your beloved stallywags, Pat.

I am sorry to read this. Patricia stabled Pastor and Fadista with my friend Carol Barclay in Sussex for a time and I had the privilege of riding them. It was a fantastic experience to ride such intuitive horses and one I have never forgotten. She was a lovely lady. God bless her, RIP

There is a sad side story to this - Patricia didn't change her will to ensure that Parsifal would find a good home. I had said I would take him, but there isn't provision for this in her will - instead she states she wants him to be put down. I knew this had been in her will, but thought she was going to change it - there are witnesses to our conversations ....
One of the executors of her estate is keen to avoid this and find him a good home. Is there anyone who might be able to help? She had said there would be enough funds to look after him, but most of her estate is going to World Horse Welfare - and they won't take him. I can't afford to look after him and my own mare (when I said I'd take him, she'd always said I wouldn't have to worry about money ... otherwise I wouldn't have committed to him.)
I realise that having him follow her may not be the worst option, but it may also not be the best .... any ideas anyone?

Many, many thanks, Heather!
He's about 18, and huge - 17.3hh (out of an Irish hunter mare who probably had elephants on her side ...) but he's also very overweight ... a very kind horse though, and beautifully schooled in the basics.

I'll put a post up on my site, Sue- had he been younger, he would have suited my yard manager Kim who is very tall and looking for a horse, but not an oldie- I already had four long retired myself!
But there may well be someone, and have someone in mind right now! Are there any pics of him? I remember seeing some of him as a young horse but not any more recent.

Yes, I met June at yours last summer, Heather!
Mbsports - I'm not sure a novice would be very fair to him at his stage of life .. but that's not a definite no if we can't find anywhere else for him! Will keep in touch ...
